Start-up company ITSL Solutions from Sundsvall develops tools for secure digital communication, technology that will once and for all replace faxes, including in healthcare. The company has now sold its HubS interface to Habo municipality and is preparing to scale up.
Handling confidential information has long been one of the major challenges of digitization, with legislation not keeping up and few technological options. This has led doctors to fax, send brown envelopes or even drive themselves to deliver sensitive patient information.
SDK, Säker digital kommunikation (Secure Digital Communication), a national system where different actors will be able to exchange classified information, is now being launched. ITSL, whose founder Fredrik Jonasson previously ran the IT security company in Sundsvall, was an early adopter with its HubS interface that connects users to SDK. The company has now won a contract with Habo municipality in Västergötland, and has more municipalities on the way in the near future.
- It is a fantastic confirmation that we are doing the right thing, and gives us a basis to continue to develop the service and get new customers," says Fredrik Jonasson.
With HubS, the organization can create a sphere for the information to be processed under confidentiality, whether chatting with colleagues, having video meetings or having external information exchange with the SDK. By using the open source Nextcloud option, which can essentially replace Microsoft Office 365, customers can move away from Microsoft solutions completely, owning all their data and avoiding the risks of cloud servers on the other side of the Atlantic.
- That's a big advantage now that Trump is acting the way he is and many see the uncertainty of what will happen going forward. Hubs offers a solution that is legal and appropriate, you always own your data," says Fredrik Jonasson.
ITSL has three customer segments. In addition to the public sector, the company also caters to private healthcare providers and other companies. With the procurement for Habo municipality, ITSL has customers in all three segments.
Since its inception two years ago, ITSL has been part of BizMaker's incubator program, where the team has been helped to build the company. Now, Fredrik Jonasson is in the process of closing a SEK 2 million funding round, and this fall ITSL plans to raise additional capital.
- Now we are preparing to be able to scale up to thousands of customers, and be able to set up the HubS environment at the push of a button," says Fredrik Jonasson.
