A.N Measurement Services prepares for the future with BizMakers Scaleup program

Since its inception in 2005, A.N Mättjänster has grown into an established player in construction and civil engineering projects in Västernorrland. The founder and owner Andrè Nykvist started the business as a sole metrological consultant, but over the years has built up a company with around 13 employees and a growing business. With almost 20 years in the industry, the company is facing new growth opportunities - and to meet these, A.N Mättjänster chose to participate in BizMaker's Business Scaleup program.

The driving force of the company has always been to deliver quality and help customers. Like many small business owners, Andrè Nykvist realized that he needed support in areas not directly related to the company's core business.

- Most people who run small businesses are neither economists nor HR specialists but are good at what they do. I think that many people like me need help with things that are not related to the core business.

Through Business Scaleup, the company was matched with four selected external growth coaches and two process managers from BizMaker, who for 18 months guided, supported and coached the company in their growth journey.

- Stepping out of our box and gaining other perspectives has been extremely valuable. We got great ideas and visions that we could take with us and implement, says Andrè Nykvist.

Improved communication and structure

Participation in Business Scaleup led to several concrete changes in the company. Some of the most important ones were hiring an administrator and improving internal communication. Through this, the company lowered the threshold for internal dialogues and created a clearer work structure.

- We have started to hold monthly meetings internally and set up a management team. This allows us to stay one step ahead," says Andrè Nykvist.

During the program, the company expanded into northern Sweden, with its headquarters in Luleå. Recruitment is now a priority, and the company plans to hire more employees to meet the demand for their services.

- You can't do everything yourself - you need help and good people around you. That has been one of the most important insights from the program. It has been great to benefit from the expertise and experience of the coaches. The program has been incredibly useful for us and given us new ways of thinking to continue to grow, says Andrè Nykvist.
