Xavitech takes the next step with BizMaker's business development program Business Scaleup

Härnösand-based Xavitech's cutting-edge technology has taken the company's micropumps all the way into space. During its time in BizMaker's business development program Business Scaleup, Xavitech Micropumps AB has sharpened its business, increased turnover and taken several steps towards greater profitability.

Xavitech Micropumps AB develops, manufactures and sells smart micropumps for a global market. The pumps, which are used primarily in gas analysis, are found in high-tech systems at Camebridge Sensotec, KRÜSS GmbH and RS Dynamics LLC, among others. In the past, NASA has also purchased pumps used on board the International Space Station (ISS).

The company was founded in 2005. In 2021, the micropump business was bought out by 11 partners, including CEO Henrik Sjöström and Vincent Skerved.

- Our goal has been to adapt the company to become profitable with our unique, intelligent micro-pumps, not primarily to spend time and money on developing new products. We are in a strong expansion phase and need to find new markets as well as retain the customers we have," says Henrik Sjöström.

As part of its strategic work, Xavitech has participated in BizMaker's business development program Business Scaleup, which is aimed at expanding small and medium-sized companies in Västernorrland. During the program, the team at Xavitech has had a series of meetings with process managers at BizMaker and four selected external coaches. Xavitech chose to focus primarily on the areas of customer process and marketing, which they identified as their most important development areas.

Coaches Peter Stenberg, Fredrik Hultner, Monica Vesterberg and Alexandra Rietz have been Xavitech's confidants during the program.

- Peter has been a very good sounding board when it comes to sales and sharpening our argumentation about the product. We have the world's best pump, but how and why, for that particular customer? As a small company without large marketing resources, we need to find smart ways to reach out with our message and Fredrik has been a good partner in the program. How can we automate, streamline and follow up better?

Henrik Sjöström emphasizes that a lot of work remains to be done, but Xavitech has now been helped to ask the right questions and develop a task list that is concrete and feasible.

- We have trained staff, including in social and digital selling. We are also reviewing our sales process, where we can work more with automation. We will change our website and get a new CRM system for customer contact and follow-up.

- The Scaleup program was a perfect fit for the phase we are in. We have got the priority right on what we want to do, concludes Henrik Sjöström.
