WatchItGolf's products generate great interest in the US

The world's largest golf fair opens its doors. The Örnsköldsvik-based startup company WatchIt Golf recently participated in the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, USA.

- We got a much bigger response than we expected, which will mean a lot of work in the future. But it's a positive challenge," says founder Patric Hörnsten Nilsson.

WatchitGolf showcased its new apps WatchitGolf PRO and PROx at the fair and was visited by several representatives from some of the most exclusive private golf clubs in the US who wanted to know more about the product.

The apps are for golfers and golf coaches. Through a patentable technology in motion science, data is collected on the club, ball and body movement. In this way, the player's golf swing is analyzed with the help of AI technology directly in the app.

- "Today's solutions for the same thing cost a lot of money, but with our app, no other tool than an iPhone is needed," says Nicklas Boström, CEO of WatchItGolf.

Anders Forsbrand, former vice Ryder Cup captain and co-owner of the company, participated in an interview similar to Draknästet in the PGA's official radio channel. The jury consisted of selected people in the golf world who were given a pot of fictitious money to invest in the products they believed in the most.

- The Dragons loved the product and invested a large part of their fictitious money in our company, says Nicklas Boström.

Reporters from the Golf Channel also stopped by WatchItGolf's booth and Anders had to explain how the product works to the channel's viewers in both the US and Canada.

The value of this exposure that the company received can be counted in millions of Swedish kronor.

- "If we had bought the equivalent advertising time for 15 minutes on the PGA's radio channel or 1.5 minutes on the Golf Channel, it would have cost several hundred thousand dollars," says Nicklas Boström.

The company is now busy dealing with questions that come from interested parties who have heard about their products after participating in the fair. It is both individual coaches, amateurs, but also owners of golf courses and clubs who get in touch.

The new products will be released on March 1 and WatchitGolf has an exciting time ahead, to say the least.

- The reception is overwhelming and I am excited about our launch. We have a very good location and it will be fun to see what it looks like in a few months," says Nicklas Boström.
