WatchItGolf wins millions in TV exposure in the US

WatchItGolf has developed an app that helps golfers sharpen their swing at a fraction of the cost of traditional solutions. Now a unique collaboration gives the Örnsköldsvik company the potential to reach 44 million TV viewers in the US and Canada.
The app from Swedish WatchItGolf has been downloaded by 10,000s of players worldwide. Now the new apps W PRO Player and W PROx are being launched in the US.

Using image analysis, the mobile phone is used as a so-called launch monitor that provides data on the ball and club for training and playing in a simulator.

- Then your coach can analyze the film of your swing no matter where in the world he or she is. The only thing you need is an iPhone," says CEO Nicklas Boström.

One in two golfers in the world is estimated to live in the US. Now WatchItGolf is getting very strong exposure on North American TV thanks to a collaboration with the production company Viewpoint.

- We got in touch when we exhibited at the world's largest golf fair in January. A collaboration like this is significantly cheaper than buying regular advertising time," says Nicklas Boström.

The broadcasts, led by well-known actor Dennis Quaid, are expected to reach 44 million viewers in the US and Canada over the course of a year.

The program about the Swedish app was recorded this summer and will be broadcast starting in December. Participating are WatchItGolf founder Patric Hörnsten Nilsson and co-owner Anders Forsbrand. In addition, Eric Eshleman, who was named PGA coach of the year in the United States in 2019.

- In addition to the exposure on TV, we also reach 1 million people via Viewpoint's email. says Nicklas Boström.
WatchItGolf's app is available in different versions. The simplest, for amateurs, is free. The more advanced version, which is aimed at professionals and coaches, has a monthly cost of up to 100 dollars.

Since its launch in 2018, WatchItGolf has raised around SEK 12 million in venture capital.

- To be able to gear up marketing and hire salespeople, we are now in discussions with investors about raising another SEK 10 million, says Nicklas Boström.

WatchItGolf is a startup included in BizMaker's incubator program.

- BizMaker has helped us a lot with valuable contacts and is an important sounding board, says Nicklas Boström.
