Looking for Västernorrland's brightest ideas

Västernorrland's biggest ideas competition 2023 is now open! Jagharenide.nu is the competition where all participants are winners - because everyone who submits an entry receives help and advice. For the very best ideas, there is also money in the prize pool that can help to reach the next step in the development of ideas.

On February 1, registration opens for jagharenidé.nu, an idea competition held simultaneously in Västernorrland, Gävleborg and Dalarna. A total of over 1 100 ideas have been submitted during the 9 years of the competition. This year, three winners will be chosen in Västernorrland. First prize is SEK 50,000, second prize is SEK 25,000 and third prize is SEK 15,000, which can be used for support and business advice from Västernorrland's incubator and science park BizMaker and its partners.

The competition is open to everyone over the age of 18 in Västernorrland, and to all kinds of ideas. Last year's winners included ideas for more efficient photovoltaic systems and for gathering healthcare information for patients. The great thing is that everyone who is accepted into the competition gets help.

-We want to capture the full breadth of the flow of ideas, and all participants get a BizMaker contact. The winners also receive money that can be used for materials, to protect their idea or perhaps to produce a CAD drawing," says Ewa Sandeheim, project manager for jagharenidé.nu at BizMaker.

Wallid Sabarsson, business developer at Örnsköldsvik Municipality, also emphasizes the importance of finding a wide range of ideas that can form the basis for future entrepreneurship.

- "In Västernorrland there is so much creativity, power and opportunities, and we need to find the ideas that go beyond the ordinary and help the people behind them to develop, find the right support and perhaps hook up with someone else. This is where jagharenidé.nu is an important platform," he says.

The jury's assessment is based on how innovative the idea is, what value it creates for the user, whether there is potential for the idea to grow and how sustainable the idea is.

- It is good to prepare properly and think through your idea an extra time. One tip is to ask a suitable person for feedback. When you are ready, fill in the competition form on the website and send it in," says Ewa Sandeheim.

The competition is open for entries from February 1-28. All entries will be judged confidentially. The winners will be presented later in the spring.
Jagharenidé.nu is organized simultaneously by the innovation actors BizMaker in Västernorrland, Movexum and Sandbacka Science Park in Gävleborg and Dalarna Science Park in Dalarna.
