Långselebased Mikab has long been an established player in the service and repair of forestry machines in Västernorrland. Now the company is taking the next step and broadening its operations through Mikab Solutions - a venture to manufacture its own accessories for forestry machines.
To strengthen this effort, Mikab has joined BizMaker's Business Scaleup growth program, which offers support in business development, streamlining of processes and access to expert knowledge.
- Business Scaleup is a perfect fit for us. We are new to manufacturing and want to build up this part of the business in a smart way. The program gives us the right tools and network to make strategic choices," says CEO Ulf Källgren.
An important part of the initiative is investment in new technology, including a laser cutter that opens up new possibilities in production.
- As we embark on this new journey with the company, it's great to have help to make as few mistakes as possible. It saves both time and resources.
Growing market and new opportunities
Mikab sees great potential for expansion, both in Sweden and internationally. The partnership with John Deere could open the door to sales in up to 30 countries, and the hope is also to be able to take on more clients.
- "It feels like we're turning on the turbo a bit now - we want to be able to receive all the knowledge and put it directly into our business," says Ulf Källgren.
