Inner Island takes place in Västernorrland - an initiative for human and sustainable entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurs and creators from Västernorrland are currently gathering at Grönborg in Sundsvall - to take the next step in their business and personal development. BizMaker is hosting the event Inner Island, which for two intensive days invites reflection, co-creation and future design.

The aim? To create new forms of business support that meet the real needs of creative and cultural entrepreneurs. Inner Island is part of BizMaker's pilot study Into the Heat, which focuses on strengthening entrepreneurs in the cultural and creative industries. By taking a holistic approach - incorporating both business and personal development - we want to explore together what the future of business support could look like.

- We know that it's easy to get lost in the pace of everyday life. That's why we need to create space for long-term thinking, values and creative direction. When entrepreneurs are able to connect their inner compass to their business, both sustainability and innovation increase," says Henrik Johansson, co-founder and facilitator of Inner Island.

Henrik, who has contributed to change work for organizations such as Scania, Hyper Island, Adidas, Greenpeace and IKEA, leads the program together with sustainability entrepreneur Rebecka Carlsson - known for her work in exponential climate change and future strategy. Together, they guide participants through a five-step process: from reflecting on the current situation, to concretizing bold steps forward. The focus is on anchoring business visions in personal drivers, and looking at the future with both clarity and creativity.

In a time of uncertainty, polarization and change, we need more entrepreneurs who work from the inside out - who combine passion with strategy, and social good with business acumen.

- The cultural and creative industries play an important role in regional development, innovation climate and attractiveness. But many creators currently lack relevant business support. With In i värmen, we want to understand what is really needed - and how we can work together to shape the support system of the future," says Anna Kollberg, project manager at BizMaker.

The insights from Inner Island will be taken further in the development of future business support, methods and tools. The event takes place during May 27 and 28 at Grönborg in Sundsvall.
