A risk analysis and a work permit. These are required every time a contractor performs a risky job in an industry. Permitify offers a digital solution that competes with the time-consuming paper-based process.
Even a modern factory can be full of risks. To avoid accidents for people carrying out service and maintenance work, the person in charge of production must carry out a risk analysis and issue a work permit for each individual job.
The permit is signed by the person carrying out the job, such as an electrician. This is a time-consuming task that in most cases is still carried out on paper.
Now the Sundsvall company Permitify has developed a digital solution that makes the management of work permits simple and fast. Via an educational flow in an online service, both clients and contractors can follow the process and receive notifications when measures need to be carried out before work can begin. According to innovator Johan Nylander, the potential for efficiency is great, not least because costly maintenance stops can be shortened.
- A prototype has been tested by industries in the steel, paper and pulp and chemical sectors with good results. The challenge has been to make complex processes easy to understand for many different types of people. A crisp version will be ready in August," he says.
Like his partners Linda Hansson Hildingson and Peter Hildingson, he has extensive experience of work environment and safety work in industry, including at Akzo Nobel.
- "As a supervisor, I issued many work permits and know how complicated the handling of paper is. The integration of our solution with the factory's maintenance system saves a lot of work. It also makes it easy to check that the person performing the job has the right authorization and certification," says Linda Hansson Hildingson.
Permitify is one of the startup companies in BizMaker's incubator program.
- "It is extremely valuable to be able to discuss issues with our business advisor Pelle Berglund and take part in BizMaker's network. It gives a completely different drive, says Johan Nylander and adds:
- We first turn to customers in Sweden, but in the long run I expect our solution to be able to reach the international market. The challenges are the same everywhere.
