Permitify has developed a digital service for work permits for high-risk jobs. Now, the municipally owned water and wastewater company Gryaab in Gothenburg will be the startup’s first live customer.
Maintenance and other high-risk tasks often require work permits and risk assessments before the work can begin.Permitify, a company based in Sundsvall, hasdeveloped a digital service that replaces paper work permits and consolidates information about ongoing projects in one place.
The company has now secured its first live customer: the water and wastewater utilityGryaabin Gothenburg, which is owned by eight municipalities in western Sweden.
Gryaab evaluated several options and settled on Permitify's solution. A key reason was its simplicity, according to control room engineer Mikael Melander.
“We were looking for something simple without a lot of extra stuff. That way, we avoid piles of paper and binders and get better traceability,” he says.
Through this service, the control room can see on a digital map where various tasks are underway within the facility and which jobs are in the queue. Gryaab has also helped test the features and provided feedback during development.
For Permitify, the agreement marks an important milestone.
“Getting that first real customer means a great deal for our credibility and will open doors to more customers,” says Johan Nylander, CEO of Permitify.
The company is already in discussions with businesses in sectors such as steel, pulp and paper, and chemicals. Looking ahead, Permitify also sees opportunities in the energy sector and at large water and wastewater treatment facilities.
“The fact that we now have a customer in the water and wastewater sector who is using our solution makes a big difference when we talk to other potential customers,” says Johan Nylander.
Earlier this year, Permitify raised venture capital from Almi Invest and business angel Anders Larsson to finance continued product development and scale up sales.
